If you are on a rock-bottom budget, stay at the one-star Hotel Stella. With room rates starting at 45 euros in 2010, and a prime location around the corner from one of the largest parks in Paris, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Hotel Stella is a budget traveler's dream. The hotel is housed in an ancient 18th century building with exposed wood beams in every room. Guestrooms are very basic and filled with an eclectic mixture of antique furniture, even including an old piano is one of the rooms. Each room contains a private bathroom with shower, but no elevators and no TVs. For families, try the large suites with two single beds and a double bed. Credit cards are not accepted, and you cannot book online. Instead, call the hotel directly and speak to the English speaking staff to reserve a room.

If you are looking for personal service at a budget rate, stay at the two-star Hotel du Globe.
