Barbie Games For Birthday Parties

Incorporate Barbie games in a Barbie-themed party.

Celebrate your little princess's upcoming birthday with a Barbie-themed party. Incorporate the theme in all aspects including decorations, invitations, refreshments, games and party favors for added fun. From outdoor scavenger hunts to bashing the piñata and fashion makeovers, theme-related game options guaranteed to keep the children entertained for hours are endless. Does this Spark an idea?

Tiara Pass

Add a theme-related twist to the traditional birthday game "Hot Potato." Play Barbie theme music and ask the guests to sit in a large circle on the floor while passing a sparkling tiara to one another. Each girl must place the tiara on her head and clap her hands three times before removing and passing the tiara to the adjacent girl. When the music immediately stops, the girl wearing the tiara is out of the game. Continue the process until there is only one girl left, who is the winner. Gift her the sparkling tiara, a silk sash with "Barbie" printed over it and a bag full of assorted Barbie goodies.

Paste the Earring on Barbie

Play this game just like "Pin the Tail on the Donkey," only with a Barbie twist. Draw and cut out a large a Barbie image on construction paper or use a large Barbie poster. Paste it on the wall at a height the guests can reach easily. Draw and cut out different colored construction paper earrings, stick a piece of adhesive tape on the back of each and hand one out to each child. Blindfold and stand each child in front of the poster, spin her around and release her so she tries to paste the earring on Barbie's ear. Give the winner a theme-related gift.

Spot the Difference

Dress pairs of Barbie dolls in exactly the same manner but leave a subtle difference in one doll. For instance, use mismatched earrings for one; braid both dolls hair using different colored elastic bands for each; make one of the dolls wear different colored shoes or use different colored shirts under the jackets of both. Provide a piece of paper and pencil to each pair of girls and ask them to note the difference. Bring out each pair of dolls in turn and hold them high for the girls to see clearly. Complete a single rotation around the room and take the dolls away. Ask the girls to observe any difference and note them down. Repeat the procedure with all the pairs of dolls. The team who guesses the most differences wins.

Fashion Show

Divide the girls into teams of two. Give each team a basket containing artificial necklaces, bracelets and clip-on earrings; tiaras; glitter lip gloss and blush on, nail varnish and accessories such as shiny belts, hats, feather scarves etc., so each team dresses up like Barbie.

Once dressed, ask each pair to walk down the pre-prepared ramp. Play Barbie music while each team of models stops and poses before turning and walking back the walkway. Ask the guests themselves to decide the winning team.
