Don't forget to toast the bride!
When it comes to getting married, a bachelorette party is an important part of the process for the bride and her friends and family. Usually the bridesmaids or maid-of-honor plan the party, and it can either be a surprise or done with the bride's help. The party needs a theme, which should depend upon the bride's tastes and personality. Pick a theme that complements her lifestyle. Does this Spark an idea?
Pampering
You can't go wrong with a spa retreat weekend or pampering party, no matter the bride's personality. You can spend a weekend at a spa, or even turn your own house into a spa. All the girls can lounge in lush terrycloth robes, get facials, manicures, pedicures, massages, foot rubs, teeth whitening and much more. This is also a great theme idea for the bride who is not a big partier and could use a break. Spice it up even more with makeovers, hair styling and a shopping spree. If you are throwing the spa day/weekend at home, decorate with aromatherapy candles, soothing music and flowers.
Fondue
Since bachelorette parties can come off as "cheesy" anyway, why not play into the theme with a fondue party? Do it at either a house or hotel, with fondue fountains spouting cheese and/or chocolate with platters of snacks and treats to dip. Almost any food can go with cheese or chocolate, but some ideas include chunks of bread, carrots, cooked potato, broccoli, radish, cooked meat, crepes, berries, pound cake, fresh pineapple, apples, oranges, pears, marshmallows and much more. This encourages socializing and lots of fun. For a more elegant experience, book a room at a fondue restaurant and have the bridesmaids provide cheesy gifts, such as outrageous lingerie, empty wedding present boxes and other funny gag gifts.
Victorian Tea
Tea parties are a pastime of every girl's childhood, so why not throw a glamorously modern or Victorian traditional tea party? This bachelorette theme can go so many ways based on the bride's personality. If the bride is more traditional, throw her a Victorian-themed tea party at a local Victorian tea shop or in your home with the proper decorations. You can even rent a banquet room at a hotel if the budget allows. Decorate with lace doilies, finger sandwiches, petit fours, delicious hot tea, hot cocoa and coffee and scones. Ask the other guests to wear Victorian-themed outfits or even just a fun hat. For a more modern bride, go for an Alice in Wonderland tea party (a bonus if she is a fan of the movie). Present it as a "mad hatter' theme, with crazy hats, fun costumes (like Moulin Rouge-style outfits and corsets), fun food like chocolate fountains, bowls of candy, spiked tea and club sandwiches.
