Invitations
Write the invitation information on sheets of paper that measure 8 by 8 1/2 inches. Fold them into the shapes of paper airplanes, and stuff them into envelopes.
Decorations
Hang cardboard clouds and airplanes from fishing wire. You can also hang signs that read "Concourse A" or "Gate 32."
Food
Serve food that is sold in individual packets, such as crackers and pretzels. Serve drinks to the children from a tea cart that has been set up to look like a beverage cart.
Games
Run a pack-the-suitcase relay during which children have to pack a case, carry it to the other end of the room and back, and then dump it out. Play "bus, bus, plane" instead of "duck, duck, goose."
Favors
Have a baggage claim area where the children can pick up their favors. Fill bags with such items as small plastic airplanes, playing cards, packages of crackers or pretzels, or airplane key chains.
Cake
Make or buy cupcakes that are frosted sky blue. Place a small toy airplane on each one.
