Diy Invitation Seals

Design your own invitation seals for a personalized look.

You can personalize wedding, birthday bash, graduation open house or holiday party invitations with a customized envelope seal. Making an elegant-looking wax seal is possible with a few easy-to-use craft items. Sealing wax is available in a wide range of hues, so choose one that coordinates with the invitation style or the special-event color scheme. As a personalized touch, pick a seal design to reflect the theme of the wedding or party, or use the person of honor's initials.

Instructions

1. Place a sealed invitation envelope upside down on a flat surface.

2. Light the sealing wax stick's wick using a match or a lighter. Hold the stick at an angle over the envelope.

3. Form an outline by dripping melted wax onto the envelope in a circle that is a little larger than a metal seal. Fill the circle outline in with more melted wax. Blow out the flame on the wick and set the stick aside.

4. Spray a bit of cooking oil spray onto the face of the metal seal so the melted wax won't stick to it. Push the seal down into the melted wax to create a design.

5. Press the seal onto the wax for five to 10 seconds, or until the wax is hard. Remove the seal from the wax to reveal the design.
