Kiahuna Plantation & The Beach Bungalows
Located in Poipu on the southern tip of Kauai, the area around Kiahuna Plantation boasts a championship golf course, the National Tropical Botanical Gardens and the island's first sugar plantation. Also nearby is the famous Spouting Horn, where water sprays high in the air after rushing through a lava tube. The resort itself features a large pool with a waterslide, multiple tennis courts and restaurant. Just across the street at Poipu Shopping Village are more restaurants; also, Kiahuna offers a grocery-shopping and delivery service. All condos are either one or two bedrooms and include a full kitchen, private porch, WiFi and daily maid service. Some condos are right on the beach; others are just a short walk away.
Hanalei Bay Resort
On the northern tip of Kauai is Hanalei Bay Resort, situated in the town of Princeville. Renowned for its natural beauty, this area was the site of filming for the movie "South Pacific." A Fodor's Choice Gold 2010 Award Winner, this oceanside resort is also close to a number of restaurants and shops. Within the resort guests will find a fitness center, eight tennis courts and two swimming pools. Walk to beach or be shuttled in a golf cart. For a nominal fee guests can participate in activities such as ukulele lessons, yoga, hula lessons, pilates and surfing. Most of the condos are privately owned and have full kitchens. They range in size from hotel-style rooms to three-bedrooms units. Maid service is not included but is available for a fee.
Waipouli Beach Resort
Waipouli Beach Resort is nestled between the towns of Kapa'a and Wailua on the eastern shore of Kauai. The resort sits right on the beach. Just down the road in Coconut Marketplace and Kauai Village visitors will find boutique shops, art galleries, restaurants, grocery stores and wellness centers. At the resort, work out in the fitness center or grab a bite to eat under the shade of a tiki hut at the on-site Oasis restaurant. Be pampered at the spa, where professionals offer traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and Pohaku hot stone treatment, deep tissue massages and volcanic clay facials using organic ingredients. Multiple sizes of condos are offered, the largest of which is a two-bedroom three-bathroom unit. Most condos come with full kitchens, balconies and flat-screen televisions. WiFi is limited to the lobby area but condos are equipped with wired Internet service. Daily maid service is included.
