Gulf County has camping along the Gulf of Mexico

Gulf County is located along the Gulf of Mexico on the eastern end of the Florida Panhandle. Campers are drawn to this area for its many fishing, swimming, boating, sunbathing and wildlife-viewing opportunities. Many Gulf County campgrounds are located directly along a body of water and provide quick access to beaches.

T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park

A big feature at the T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park is its 10 miles of white sandy beaches. Popular activities in the park include sunbathing, boating, snorkeling and swimming in either the Gulf of Mexico or St. Joseph Bay. Wildlife also can be viewed on this coastal barrier peninsula. Two campgrounds in the park have a combined 119 campsites with water and electric hook-ups. The sites can handle RVs up to 40 feet. Pets are allowed on the campgrounds, which have restrooms and showers, and are a short walk from the beach. Group and primitive campgrounds are in the park along with eight rental cabins along the bay. The primitive campground has no facilities and campers must bring their own supplies.
