Preparation
Purchase a nice-size coconut and do not refrigerate. You will need a clean work area, a hammer and nail, a small handsaw, a hand drill with a small bit, scissors, a spoon, a marker, and nylon rope.
Cutting the Coconut
Use the hammer and nail to make a small hole in one of the coconut eyes so you can drain the milk. If you have a C-clamp for use in woodworking, you can place the emptied coconut inside to help hold it. If not, make sure you hold the coconut securely while you saw it in half. You'll want to saw it lengthwise so it will give you the most coverage.
Cleaning
With a spoon, remove the white meat from the two halves of the coconut. Take out as much as you can and put it aside. Make sure there are no jagged edges on either half, because these may irritate your skin.
Drill holes
Using a marker, make guide marks for drilling holes. You'll want holes on the sides that are facing the inside of your chest as well as the opposite sides. Now make two more marks on the tops of the halves so the bra can hang from your neck as well. Using your hand drill, make small holes where you placed your marks.
Putting it together
Now you can take the your first piece of nylon rope and string the two halves together. Strategically place the coconuts on your body and tie the rope behind your back. Allow a little slack in the rope so that you can secure it to the middle of the inside of the coconuts with tape. Now cut the rope to the length you want. Next, take two more pieces of rope and slide each piece through the holes at the tops of the coconut halves. Tie knots in the ends of the rope so they do not slide out. Tie the two ends of the rope behind your neck. Cut the rope when you have the length you want. Look in the mirror and make any rope adjustments that you may want or need. Enjoy your new homemade coconut bra!
