Childrens'S Birthday Invitations To Make

Create your own birthday party invitations.

Before you run out and buy packages of birthday party invitations for your child's next party, think about the type of invitations you can make yourself and save money in the long run. Create invitations based on the party theme and allow the birthday child to help. Does this Spark an idea?

Printable Invitations

Create your own printable invitations using your home computer. Customize the invitations according to the theme of the child's birthday party and add the child's name within the print. The Activities for Kids website allows you to customize invitations online by first selecting a design based on the theme. Once the design is selected, five lines of information can be added to the card, which include details about the party, such as date, time and location. Next, a color is selected for font and border. Once the invitation is designed, you can preview it and make any corrections or changes to the design. Print the invitations from your home printer or take them to a printing service to make a larger number.

Stamping

Create custom birthday party invitations for your child's next party using rubber stamps. Craft stores carry a variety of stamps in different shapes, styles and characters that can be used to create colorful invitations. Wording for the invitation may be printed on card stock using a home computer and Microsoft Works program, and the stamps can be added to go along with the design and theme. Add glitter or other scrapbooking accessories for extra color and design.

Photo Invitations

Create photo invitations for your child's next birthday party. Department stores, drug stores or mail order companies offer packages with personally designed cards that can be given out as party invitations. Select one photo or a variety of photos to use as the main focal point of the invitation and add the party information around the outside or at the bottom. Create simple one-sided photo cards or take it one step further and create regular card style invitations for an additional cost. Photo invitations are sold in specific quantities and are generally inexpensive.

Homemade Invites

Design your own invitations at home using craft supplies and accessories that can be purchased inexpensively. Make an invitation including a simple photo of the child with the birthday party information. Use card stock or construction paper as the card itself. For a simple style card, cut the paper according to the size of the invitation and fold it in half. Write the party information on the invite using glitter pens or a colored marker. Attach stickers or glitter to the card for extra design and style. Create themed cards yourself based on the party theme, such as a Mickey Mouse head for a Disney themed party or a crown for a princess themed party.
