Cheap Bachlorette Party Ideas

Throw a fun bachelorette party that doesn't cost a fortune.

Planning a bachelorette party on a budget doesn't mean taking away the excitement and fun. Creative and affordable ideas keep the cost down and the party going. Play games, make your own food and purchase a few inexpensive decorations to get the party started. Make the budget-friendly bachelorette party one the bride-to-be will remember.

Where

When deciding on a place to have the party, consider having it at someone's house. This saves money on buying drinks and having to pay to get in a club. Serving alcohol is a lot cheaper when you purchase it yourself. Throw some food on the grill and serve fruity drinks.

Accessories

Make a party veil for the bride-to-be to wear instead of buying one. Purchase some while tulle at your local craft store and an inexpensive white headband. Hot glue the tulle to the headband and glue on risqu items, if the bride-to-be would be open to that. Buy a large piece of ribbon and large letters to make her a "Bachelorette" sash. Hot glue more risqu items onto the sash as well.

Decorations

Search a discount party supply store for clearance party items or cheap party decorations. Use pink and purple streamers to decorate the house. Or, instead of using bachelorette decorations from a party supply store, go to a dollar store. Most dollar stores carry tablecloths, plastic ware and cups in several colors. Some dollar stores carry bachelorette decorations and the prices are much cheaper than most party supply stores.

Food

Instead of having food catered or going out to eat at a restaurant, make food at home. Prepare large fruit and vegetable trays with dips. Serve finger sandwiches, meatballs and cookies. Have each guest with the exception of the bride-to-be bring a side food item. This way the cost does not fall back on any one person. If someone has a chocolate fondue, have her bring it and buy strawberries, marshmallows and other fruit to dip.

Games

Play games such as "Pass the Bachelorette Tiara", which plays out like "Hot Potato." Have all party guests sit in a circle and pass the tiara around the circle while music plays. When the music stops, the person holding the tiara is out of the game. Play until only one player remains in the game. She is the winner.

Guests can also go on a bachelorette scavenger hunt. Make several lists of items such as a napkin, something blue, a garter and red lipstick. Guests break into teams to collect the items on their lists. The first team to collect their items wins the game.
