Yen Ching
Long voted the "Best Chinese Food" in Boise by readers of the Boise Weekly magazine, Yen Ching in downtown Boise serves every dish up fresh including fried rice, which is made to order. The restaurant features popular Chinese dishes like General's Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef. But its décor doesn't fit the stereotypical Chinese restaurant--no plastic lanterns hang from the ceiling in this restaurant. Instead, the décor is understated with a few bold colors on select walls. Boise locals know to come in and ask if any Kim Chee has been made and ask their servers to bring them a chilled Ching Tao beer before embarking on a meal of crab rangoon appetizers, moo sho pork and chilled lychees for dessert.

PF Chang's
PF Chang is located in the heart of Boise's new revitalized BoDo district, and with its stone horse sculpture standing at the restaurant's doorway, it's hard to miss this popular Boise eatery. Although a chain restaurant, PF Chang's in Boise still retains a friendliness about it that's typical of the Northwest. The food is always fresh and the waitstaff is efficient, but friendly. PF Chang's is located near a movie theater, coffee houses and downtown Boise life. Restaurant guests can expect quite a wait on the weekend for this popular Chinese place, so they should plan on coming early to get their name on the restaurant's waiting list.

Mai Thai
For the Asian food lovers who can't decide which kind of Asian food to eat in Boise, Mai Thai might be just the perfect place. Although the Mai Thai has quite an extensive menu of Chinese food, it also features Thai and Japanese food--including Sushi--as well as its own version of the hamburger complete with fries. The restaurant has a full bar and has two locations--one in Boise and one in nearby Eagle. Mai Thai has gotten its own share of accolades and has been featured in the local paper as well as in National Geographic Traveler.
