Centerpiece Ideas For A Sweet 15

Use the sweet 15 birthday cake as a table centerpiece.

When planning your child's 15th birthday party, create centerpieces for the tables. Centerpieces provide a focal point for each table and add color to the party. Make your own centerpieces with items found during a quick trip to a florist or craft supply store. When the celebration is over, give away any unwanted centerpieces as party favors. Does this Spark an idea?

Flower Bouquet

Make a flower bouquet with real or artificial flowers. Purchase pink and white flowers, such as carnations or roses. Put the fresh flowers in a tall, glass vase and fill it with pink and clear glass stones to keep the flowers upright. Fill the vase with water if you are using fresh flowers. Cover wooden numbers one and five with glue and sprinkle pink glitter on them. Attach the numbers to a wood dowel, and place in the bouquet.

Floating Candles

Create a floating candle centerpiece with a glass bowl, water, food coloring and floating candles. Purchase several candles that match the party's colors. Fill the glass bowl with water and add a couple of drops of food coloring to give the water pizazz. Get number cake candles (one and five), and let them float in the water. Add other floating candles to create a pleasing display.

Balloon Bouquet

Choose balloons that coordinate with the party theme, as well as a few balloons that say "15." Blow the balloons up to the same size and attach them to a weighted base. Attach the balloons tightly in a bundle and tie them to a wood dowel. Put a piece of Styrofoam in a clay pot and insert the wood dowel in the Styrofoam to turn the pot into a flower vase. Paint the clay pot in the party theme colors and paint the number "15" on the vase.

Votives

To make votive centerpieces, gather glitter stick-on numbers (one and five) and glass votive jars. Purchase the numbers and jars in your party colors. Stick the glitter numbers on the votive jars and place a few in the middle of each table. Spread colored stones around the base of the jars for added decoration. Light the candles when the party starts for a shimmery effect.
