Disney's Contemporary Resort is located on the shore of Bay Lake, right next to the Magic Kingdom theme park. Like all Disney-owned resorts, your stay entitles you to perks, including extra hours in the theme parks and the ability to charge and ship purchases made in the parks back to your room.
Rooms
The rooms at Disney's Contemporary Resort are divided into the main tower and the smaller garden wing. Rooms have either two double beds or one king bed, and each come with a day bed, an in-room safe, a mini refrigerator, a table with chairs and a coffee maker. Most rooms have a balcony or patio. Suites sleeping six to 10 people are also available. Available views include the resort grounds, Bay Lake and the Magic Kingdom.
Recreation
The resort's location on the lake offers easy access to water sports, such as water skiing, tubing, para sailing and pontoon boating. You can soak up the sun on the white-sand beach, or take a dip in one of the two heated outdoor pools. You will also find gift shops, an arcade, volleyball courts and daily planned activities.
Dining
Chef Mickey's buffet serves breakfast and dinner buffets where Mickey and his pals stop by each table for photos and autographs. Atop the hotel on the 15th floor is the elegant California Grill, which offers a stunning view of the nightly Magic Kingdom fireworks while you dine. The Wave restaurant on the first floor of the resort offers casual dining on dishes prepared from market-fresh ingredients, while the Contempo Cafe offers grab-and-go meals and snacks.
Transportation
Disney's Contemporary Resort's indoor monorail station lets you hop on board the monorail to the Magic Kingdom without ever stepping foot outside the hotel. Complimentary buses and boats also provide transportation to the rest of Walt Disney World. In addition, a walking path between the resort and the Magic Kingdom is available, with a walking time of about 10 minutes from the resort to the park.
