Girls Bowling Birthday Party Ideas

Bowling parties are fun for girls of all ages.

If your little girl likes bowling, is on a league or is simply athletically inclined, a bowling birthday party offers creative options for food, favors and fun. Bowling is also an adult activity, which gives parents and children an activity to share, and you some extra help with your party. Does this Spark an idea?

Invitations

Cut circles out of pink card stock. Fold the circles in half and cut three semi-circles along the folded edge (make sure not to cut into the outer edge of the circle). When you unfold the cut-outs, you should have pink card stock bowling balls with finger holes. Cut out bowling-pin shapes from white card stock. Put a pink glitter border around the pink bowling ball, and put pink glitter stripes on the bowling pins. Finally, write a little party information on the bowling ball, write a little on a pin and then write the rest on another pin.

Decorations

Select colors such as pink, purple and white as your color scheme. Twist several different colors of streamer into long strands. Create streamer bowling lanes to decorate the ceiling by hanging them in parallel lines across the room, leaving 2 to 3 feet between lanes. Make a triangular formation of balloons at the end of each lane, and a singular balloon at the other end of each lane (the balloons represent bowling pins and a bowling ball). Cover tables in plastic tablecloths in your theme colors, cutting out large bowling ball place mats from poster board for each guest. Tie a bouquet of balloons to a bowling pin as a center piece for each table.

Food and Cake

Create a round cake and decorate it like a bowling ball. In lieu of a large birthday cake, make several cupcakes decorated like mini-bowling balls. Or, purchase or bake a large sheet cake covered in frosting to match your theme colors. Pipe bowling lanes onto the cake, and place small toy bowling pins and bowling balls at either end of each lane on the cake. Serve guests ball-themed foods, such as meat balls, melon balls and stuffed tomatoes. You can also serve traditional party foods such as pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream and potato chips.

Favors

Fill mini-bowling bags with favors for guests. Include items such as mini-bowling games, bowling stickers and key chains, sports bottles, crayons and coloring books and candy. Since the party is for girls, you may also want to include items such as glitter, lip gloss or nail polish. Also include any other small, affordable bowling merchandise you can find.
