Plan a fun birthday for a girl who is turning 18.
Teenagers are typically excited about upcoming birthdays, but an 18th birthday is even more exciting because it marks when a teenager technically becomes an adult. When you are planning a party for an 18-year-old, choose activities that are exciting enough to fit the occasion. Eighteen-year-olds enjoy all sorts of activities, so there are a broad range of things to choose from. Does this Spark an idea?
Bowling
Consider taking a group of 18-year-olds to a bowling alley for a birthday party. You can rent a few lanes and let the teens play each other at bowling all afternoon or evening. Bowling is an easy game to pick up, so teens who have not played before have nothing to worry about. Many local bowling alleys also rent rooms that you could use to serve food, drinks and cake.
Scavenger Hunt
Another idea is to plan a scavenger hunt for the teens. Get the party guests together and split the teens into groups of three or four. Give each group a digital camera. You may not even need to do this as many teens have phones with cameras that they can use to take pictures. Make up a list of 18 items that each group needs to find and take a picture of. The items will differ based on where the party is taking place, but they could include things like a kissing couple, an orange leaf or a pair of flip flops. The first group to find all of the items wins.
Photo Booth
Another idea for an 18th birthday party is a photo booth. Rent the booth from a local party rental center. You could keep the activity simple and just allow the teens to go into the photo booth in groups and take silly photos. On the other hand, consider choosing a variety of costume items, such as boas, hats and masks and let the guests wear them when they take pictures.
Hawaiian Luau
When you are planning a birthday party during the warm months of the year consider planning a Hawaiian luau. Throw the party in your backyard or around the pool and give all of the guests a grass skirt or a lei when they arrive. Serve traditional Hawaiian foods, such as pork, grilled pineapples and coconut cake. Play traditional Hawaiian music and help the guests learn to dance the hula.
