Birthday Party Invite Ideas

Turn a chocolate bar into a party invitation.

Invitations are the first indication guests have to the style, theme and formality of your party. As such, you should invest some quality time into researching the various types of invitations available to you. While standard invitations might be the first option you gravitate to, consider some of the many creative alternatives first. Does this Spark an idea?

Candy Bar Invites

Candy bar invitations are both creative and delicious. To make one, remove the outer wrapper of a chocolate bar or any other type of candy bar that has a second foil wrapper. Trace the wrapper on a piece of birthday-themed wrapping paper and cut it out. Wrap the new wrapper around the foil wrapper of the candy bar. Finally, tie a ribbon around the chocolate bar and attach a tag with your invitation information. If you are having a themed birthday party, you can substitute the birthday-themed wrapping paper with a type of paper that fits your theme.

Magnet Invites

Customized magnets can be found online or in person from a printing store. A birthday party magnet can include a picture of the birthday boy along with all the details of the party. You can even have a small calendar printed on the magnet with the date of the party circled. Again, if you are having a themed birthday party, you can design your magnet to suit your theme. Magnets invitations are especially practical because your party guests can stick them on their refrigerators or any other metal surface and use them for years to come.

Photo Invites

You can create photo invitations at home using a photo editing program, or custom order them online or from a photo center. If you will be making them yourself, simply open the image you wish to use in your photo editing program, add a border and type the party information on top of the border. When choosing a boarder, choose one that is birthday-themed or fits the specific theme of your birthday party.

Bubble Invites

Bubbles are fun for children and bring back nostalgic feelings for adults. To send bubble invitations, purchase several bottles of bubbles from a dollar store and add your own labels -- with the details of your party printed on them -- over the original labels. You can purchase blank labels from an office supply store and follow the instructions on the package to customize your labels.
