Boy'S 14th Birthday Party Ideas

You can choose from many ideas for your son's 14th birthday party.

As your son grows older, he'll most likely want to spend more time with friends and less time hanging out with his mom and dad. While he matures into a young man, so will his expectations of freedom and responsibility. For a boy's 14th birthday party, parents should take into account these expectations to help him define himself through his interests and friends. Does this Spark an idea?

Party Sports

For your son's 14th birthday, take him and a few of his friends to a recreation center offering rock climbing, skateboarding, paint ball or laser tag. Call the center ahead of time to see if you need to reserve a party room. While your son and his friends are playing, set up an area for cake and presents. Avoid spending too much time supervising, as your son may be uncomfortable with this. After an hour or two, have the teens take a break to come eat cake and ice cream, as well as watch your son open his presents. Take a few group pictures before heading home.

Dinner and a Movie

If there's a movie coming out that your son wants to see, let him invite two or three friends to go out to dinner and a movie. Take everyone to a dinner buffet and let them sit at their own table. Stay and eat at a separate table, or go home for an hour or so until everyone is done eating. Take the kids to the movies and give your son enough money for tickets and snacks for his friends. To continue the celebration, let everyone spend the night at your house.

Pool Party

If you have a swimming pool at your house, allow your son to invite a group of friends over to swim and hang out. While everyone swims, set up a barbecue and serve hamburgers and hot dogs. Play some music, set up a water volleyball net, hand out water guns and just supervise the party from afar. After a while, ask everyone to take a break to have some birthday cake.
