Game Hints For "Nancy Drew The Creature Of Kapu Cave"

"Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave," is the 15th PC game in the "Nancy Drew" adventure game series produced by Her Interactive Inc. Nancy Drew heads to Hawaii to take a break from detective work. However, a case soon emerges as pineapple crops are mysteriously destroyed and people begin to fear that it is the work of a mythical being, Kane 'Okala. Along with the Hardy Boys, Nancy must discover the truth.

The Frass Puzzle

Nancy Drew is a research assistant for Dr. Quigley Kim while staying in Hawaii. The doctor wants Nancy to collect samples from each of the four traps located in the jungle area. Once these are collected, Nancy must return to base camp and use the microscope to separate the frass from the seeds and the insect parts that were in the samples. Nancy has a clipboard in her inventory that helps you identify the different elements. You must weigh the frass, count the amount of seeds and enter these numbers onto the chart, which is also attached to the clipboard. Calculate detritus predominance by studying the very first page on the clipboard.

Fertilizing the Plants

At the Hilihili Research Facility, Nancy must fertilize a series of plants to receive an important item from Dr. Craven. This puzzle is solvable through trial and error as there are seven different-colored levers and each one effects the flowers differently. Start with the orange lever first. Press the big green button after each lever selection.

Elements Cave Puzzle

There is a path within the cave that Nancy walks along. You hear several different sounds: water, wind, fire and crumbling. At the end of the path, Nancy finds picture stones that must be pushed in a specific order. The sounds from earlier correspond to the pictures on the stones, and the order of the sounds corresponds to the order that the stones are to be pushed.

Story Sequence Puzzle

Near the end of the game, Nancy stumbles across another puzzle. It entails six pictures and six dice. The pictures tell a story when placed in a certain order. Use the dice to label the order of the pictures. The die with one on it represents the first picture in the story, the die with two represents the second, etc. A good way to figure out the order is by studying the growth of the tree on the left side of each picture.
