Flowers in the hair can be combined with just about any outfit to create a sense of elegance, grace or even care-free fun. For fancy events, be sure to match the flower to the outfit and/or makeup. Flower On Top
Flowers can be worn on top of your hair--either with your tresses hanging down, or pulled up. A flower on top will either serve as a crown or a centerpiece on your head. A small bouquet (made of tiny to medium blossoms) can be arranged for a fancy event like a prom or a wedding. Pin the hair atop the head behind the flower, or in back of the head (in a braid or bun).
Under Ear
Flowers can be pinned under the ear with hair pinned above it in an up-do, or with the hair streaming loosely behind it. As an alternative, pull the hair into a horizontal hair roll, and then pin a half-crown of flowers underneath the up-do, just beneath the crest.
Over Ear
For a care-free, exotic hairstyle, a lily or tropical flower can be placed behind the ear with the hair left down and loose. This style looks spontaneous and eye-catching, and can be used with casual outfits.
Side
A French twist with flowers woven into the crest on the side makes an elegant statement at parties and in ballrooms. Use a cluster of small flowers, or a single long blossom that accentuates the shape of the hairstyle. Alternatively, a single braid on the side of the hair with a few small flowers woven into it is a more casual and whimsical option.
Bottom
A flower can be placed at the bottom of a braid or twist left hanging down the back, creating a fun surprise for the people standing behind you.
Crown
A crown of flowers can top the head with hair loose and down. As an alternative to the traditional flower-crown, the hair can be pinned back in a bun and the ring of flowers can line the crest of the bun. For another option, braid your hair into a crown braid and weave a number of smaller flowers into the braid.
