Create a "Dora the Explorer" party that has guests playing Dora and Boots-themed games. Dora is a little girl who loves to explore and go on adventures with her monkey friend, Boots, and her backpack. Kids can explore Dora's world with some games that take them on a birthday party adventure. Does this Spark an idea?
Backpack
Place small toys and objects into a backpack. Make sure they have a distinctive feel, such as crayons, bouncy balls, a Slinky or a book. Everyone must sit in a circle and pass the backpack from person to person. Each guest should stick his hand inside and without looking, grab an object and try to guess what it is. If he guesses correctly, he gets to keep the toy. Kids can sing Dora's "Backpack" song while they play this game.
Swiper, No Swiping
Swiper is a fox that's always trying to cause mischief for Dora and Boots. Stop Swiper in his tracks with this game of hide and seek. Purchase a Swiper stuffed animal from an online retailer, or make a paper-bag Swiper using printables you can download. Hide Swiper somewhere in the party area, and have guests go on a hunt for him. They can consult a map of the house to try and figure out where Swiper would hide. Whoever finds Swiper gets to take him home so he can't cause any more trouble for Dora.
Pin the Backpack on Dora
Use a poster or print-out of Dora wearing her trusty backpack. Cut out small backpack shapes and laminate them with clear contact paper. Stick double-sided tape on the back of the backpacks, and let kids take turns trying to stick the backpack on Dora. Blindfold them and spin them around a couple of times before they stick the backpack. Have a small backpack to give away as a prize for whoever is the closest.
