Games To Play In A Bar Or Tavern With Prizes

Darts competitions are a fun way to bring people together at a bar or tavern.

Bar games provide hours of entertainment and fun. Games are an ideal way to bring people together and make new friends. In a bar or tavern environment, prizes are generally alcoholic beverages, cash or credit for beverages or food that can be redeemed at a later date. Playing tavern games increases the chances that people will have fun and want to come back.

Trivia

Trivia is an ideal game to play in small groups. The person organizing the trivia game asks everyone to form groups of two to five individuals (depending on the size of the bar) and decide on a team name. Paper and pencils are distributed to each team. Questions are announced using a microphone, and teams are given a short amount of time to write down their answers. The questions are generally divided into categories such as geography, history, literature and movies. After the announcer has asked all the questions, he collects the papers and finds which team has the greatest amount of correct responses. Often prizes are given to first, second and third place winners.

Darts Competition

The bartender or a manager organizes the people who want to participate in the darts competition and keeps the score of each player. When the round of darts is complete, a winner is determined based on highest amount of points scored. First, second and third place winners receive prizes of cash, free beverages or a free appetizer, for example.

Pool Tournament

Depending on the size of the bar and the pool tables available, teams of one or two people are formed. The organizer creates matches of teams to play against each other. Losing teams are eliminated, and the winning teams advance to the next round. The final round consists of the two top teams playing each other. First and second teams (and third if desired) are awarded prizes.

Name That Song

Almost every bar or tavern plays music to liven the atmosphere. Identifying songs is a fun way to create a competitive environment in a bar. The organizer asks everyone to divide into groups of two to four (depending on the size of the bar) and distributes a pencil and paper to each group. The organizer or DJ then plays a variety of songs in the bar for 30 seconds to one minute each. The teams guess the title and artist of the song and write it on their paper. When the game is complete, the papers are collected and the top three winners are determined. Partial points are usually given if only song or title is correct.
