Compare All Inclusive In Cancun

Cancun shoreline.

All-inclusive vacations are a popular choice for the more frugal traveler. This is because hotel, food, airfare, and sometimes even alcohol and activities are all included. What's not to love about not having to carry money to dinner every night or worrying about how much you'll end up spending on food during your vacation? All-inclusive trips are a budget friendly and worry free way to go, but there are some considerations to take into account before booking your trip to Mexico's beautiful coastline.

Adults Only

The Sun Palace in Cancun is one of many adult-only resorts. Beyond that though, the resort prides itself as being the "first couple's only resort in Cancun" per PalaceResorts.com. Sounds perfect for the upcoming honeymoon, right? Here's what's included: airfare, hotel accommodations, buffet or the choice of one of 43 restaurants, 24-hour room service, alcohol, selected tours and activities, unlimited calls in the continental United States, unlimited wireless Internet, and perhaps most importantly all taxes and tips. What is not included: spa treatments, golf packages, motorized water sports and transportation. How much should you expect to pay? Flying from New York during the off-season (winter) and spending seven days at this resort will set you back $1,900 per person.

Kid Friendly

The Paradisus Resort in Cancun offers a family concierge package for couples traveling with children. Included are: a supervised kids camp, gaming packages (upon request), a kids beach kit, kid-friendly mini-bars with healthy snacks, child-sized robes and slippers, swimming lessons and family suites with multiple rooms. For mom and dad there are seven restaurants, six bars, tennis courts, four swimming pools and wine tasting classes. You pay extra for: airfare, scuba diving, massages, laundry service, transportation and spa access. A family of four can rent the family concierge suite for about the price of $6,000 plus the cost of airfare.

Middle Ground

If you have older kids or if you're not looking for a super-romantic getaway, there is always middle ground to be found. The Grand Oasis Hotel in Cancun is adult and kid-friendly alike without going overboard in either direction. Offered are 15 restaurants, 12 bars, a gym, a tennis court, a golf course, live music, and 24-hour room service. Airfare, phone calls, faxes, a babysitter, equipment rentals, spa packages and transportation will be an out-of-pocket expense. A small family of two adults and one child can expect to pay $1,800 for a weeklong vacation in an ocean front room, not including airfare.
