Bridal Shower Games For The Groom

Bridal shower decorations

Bridal showers used to be for the bride and her female relatives and friends only. Just as with anything else, trends tend to change over time. It's no longer unheard of to host a co-ed bridal shower. Sometimes, this makes the shower a little bit easier on everyone involved as a relaxing, calm event in which everyone can mingle and enjoy themselves. Some bridal shower games are even more fun to play when the groom gets involved.

Trivia

Trivia games trigger interesting and hilarious memories for all guests as well as the bride and groom. Fun variations include "The Newlywed Game." First, the groom answers a series of questions, away from his bride, and vice versa. The bride must answer the same questions answered by her future husband, in the way she thinks he answered them. Then reverse. It's exciting to see how well they know each other and what sort of surprises come up. Questions could include: "What is the best dish your future wife makes?"; "If your wife were stranded on an island who would she choose to take, besides you?"; or even "Which one of your wife's friends do you find the most attractive?" Choose questions that won't cause any hurt feelings or awkward moments.

"How Well Do You Know..." can be played a few different ways. You can split everyone up according to gender and see which of the men knows the groom best and which of the women knows the bride best. Or have everyone play together and see if the couple knows each other the best or not. Questions can include simple things such as his eye color, favorite drink or band, zodiac sign, how many siblings he has and how old he was when he experienced his first kiss. Make the questions fun and interesting as everyone should be able to learn a thing or two about the groom.

Guess Who?

For coed bridal showers, some of the best games require the groom to take part, such as "Guess Who?" Blindfold the groom so he can't see anything. Someone guides him as he goes through a line of ladies, feeling their lower legs or receiving a kiss on the cheek. He has to guess which woman is his fiancee. Of course, you can play many tricks to fool him. Or also make him guess which player is his mother or the bride's sister, for example. Pictures are a must for this game.

Battle of the Sexes

You can play many games Battle of the Sexes-style. The groom can lead the men to victory, or be defeated by the savvy bride and her crew of women. Play Pictionary (a drawing game), Jeopardy or even charades with a wedding twist.

You can purchase and download several Battle of the Sexes games online that are amazingly funny (see References). To play "Honey Do" lists, the groom checks off which chores belong to the husband or wife, as does the bride. The men get to guess how the groom answered, and the women guess how the bride answered. It's fun to see how the bride and groom's ideas of chores match or, even better, don't match.

"Name that Tool" goes hand in hand with "Name that Spice." The groom sees if he can outsmart his wife in the garage and kitchen. Guests take part in these games as well, which adds to the humorous responses.

The groom and the rest of the guys play "Famous TV Wives" while the bride and other women play "Famous TV Husbands." "Famous TV Couples" can be played by everyone at the same time.

"Famous Movie Quotes" incorporates quotes from action movies as well as chick flicks to see who's paying attention and who's not.
