Centerpiece Ideas For A 60th Birthday

There are many different things you can use as centerpieces at a 60th birthday.

Reaching the age of 60 is a definite cause for celebration, and throwing a party for a person that has reached this milestone birthday is a perfect way to celebrate. Centerpieces for a 60th birthday party can be funny, elegant, meaningful or even double as party favors for the guests. Use these centerpieces to add another festive element to the party and make it a memorable occasion. Does this Spark an idea?

Photo Centerpieces

A fun and interesting idea for a 60th birthday centerpiece is to use photos. Find photos from different decades of the person's life that incorporate important events. Think of weddings, births, previous birthdays, Christmas, bad haircuts and amusing fashion choices. Have one decade per table and choose six to eight pictures from this era. To display the photos, use stands with weighted bottoms and clips. Make copies of the pictures so you aren't using the originals then clip them to the stand. You can even blow up two photos and have them back to back, or you can blow up four photos and arrange them to form a square so that pictures can be seen from all angles of the table.

Elegant Centerpieces

If the party is more of a dignified affair, consider traditional centerpieces, such as silver candlesticks with flowers and miniature lights. Find out the birthday person's favorite colors or ideas and incorporate these into the centerpiece. Candlesticks wrapped with ribbons are elegant and unimposing, and they double as lighting. You can also use other decorative lighting options, such as tea light candles displayed in a wire tree housing, or tea lights in colorful, decorative housings.

Cupcake Centerpieces

For a unique idea try a cupcake centerpiece. Decorate 60 cupcakes in a color that matches the overall decor of the birthday party. You can even have an edible picture of the birthday person iced on the top of each cupcake. Organize these cupcakes on tiered cupcake holders and place them in the middle of the table for a pretty centerpiece that doubles as dessert.

Candy Centerpieces

To remember the era that the birthday person came from, find retro candies online or from a local candy supplier. Fill colorful or clear vases and jugs with different types of these candies then place the jugs in the center of the tables. This centerpiece is not only amusing and will bring back great memories for a lot of the guests, but it also provides people something to snack on during speeches and before meals. You can even give people mini jars of these candies to go home with as a memento from the party so purchase small clear jars to put leftover candy in.
