Centerpieces To Make For Baby Showers

Use baby bottles in a table centerpiece.

Create a centerpiece for the baby shower you are planning. The mom-to-be will enjoy the time and effort you have put into it. From diaper cakes to fruit bouquets, you can make a centerpiece in under 30 minutes. Use baby items like bottles or baby food jars to help create your centerpiece. Does this Spark an idea?

Diaper Cake

Make a diaper cake using cloth or disposable diapers. Not only does it make a cute centerpiece but the mom-to-be can take the diapers home to use once the baby is born. Create several tiers of diapers by wrapping them and securing them with rubber bands. Cover the rubber bands with ribbon; blue ribbon if the baby is a boy, pink if it is a girl and yellow or green if the gender is unknown. Stack the two or three tiers on top of each other and decorate with small toys or baby toiletry items.

Fruit Bouquet

Cut fruit into floral shapes and place them on a thin dowel or kabob skewer. If you have a difficult time cutting flower shapes out of fruit, simply use pieces of fruit. Curved pieces of cantaloupe, grapes, strawberries and watermelon go well together. Place the skewers into a large vase.

Baby Bottles and Jars

Fill baby bottles with water and place a few drops of food coloring inside each one. Tie a ribbon bow around the neck of each one. Instead of food coloring, place a taper candle in the middle and fill around it with sand; make sure the candle sticks out above the bottle. You can fill them with candy for a fun colorful look.

Thoroughly clean baby food jars and remove the label from each one. Using a paint pen, draw a design or write one each jar; you can go with the shower date or the baby's name. Place a tealight or small votive candle in each jar and place them around the bottles and food on the buffet table.

Stuffed Animal or Baby Doll

Use a large stuffed animal or baby doll as the centerpiece. This is a fun idea because you can send it home as a gift with the mom-to-be. Tie a ribbon around a pacifier and hang it around the doll's neck. Place a bottle in the stuffed animal's hand and put a diaper on it. You can dress it in a new outfit that the baby can wear later on.
