Boy'S Birthday Invitation Ideas

Ask your son to help pick out his invitations.

Your son's birthday celebration isn't complete without the right invitations. Choose invites that match the color scheme or the theme of the party. Many stores offer a wide selection of boys birthday invitations, and you also can find more online. However, if you don't find what you need, you can make your own invitations and get your son involved, unless it's a surprise party. Does this Spark an idea?

Teddy Bear Card

Find invitations featuring a teddy bear with a blue ribbon tied around his neck. Invitations with a teddy bear border or a pile of teddy bears also work well for a young boy's birthday. You can make your own teddy bear cards using stamps and a few embellishments. Buy cream or baby blue card stock paper and envelopes along with blue and brown ink, teddy bear stamps and teddy bear charms. Use sticker letters to write a message on the front that says "You're Invited to a Party," or something along those lines. Stamp the front of the card with teddy bear stamps using blue and brown ink. Make sure the ink is dry and then glue tiny teddy bear charms around the front border of the card. Write the details about the party inside.

Dots and Strips

Blue, green and yellow dots and stripes together or plain dots and plain stripes both work well for a boy's birthday party. This style is best suited for parties that don't have a specific theme or have a general theme, like a party in the park. Buy this style or make your own using stamps. Buy large striped or polka dot stamp pads at the craft store along with card stock paper. Stamp the front of the card with stripes first using light colors like baby blue and green. Once the ink is dry, stamp a second layer of dots on top of the stripes in a darker color like forest green or navy blue. Use stickers or markers to write your message on the exterior and inside the card.

Puppy Dog

Look for invitations that have a puppy or puppies on the front. You can also make your own cards by bringing a picture of a puppy to a printing store. Ask them to print that picture on the front of the card along with a message on the front and back. Decorate the card with a paw print border as a finishing touch.

Personalized Dinosaur Pals

Take a picture of your son to a local print shop and ask for a custom dinosaur card with his face on it. You can have a dinosaur print in the background with your son's face in the middle or simply have a dinosaur border. Ask if you can choose from different templates or make your dinosaur cards at home using dinosaur stamps and card stock in your son's favorite color.
