Bat Mitzvah Invitation Ideas

The Bat Mitzvah celebration is a relatively new tradition in the Jewish faith.

A Bat Mitzvah is a celebration of a Jewish child becoming a son or daughter of commandment, which means the child has progressed to an age where she can observe the Torah and its commandments. The average age for a girl Bat Mitzvah is 12, while a boy typically has a Bar Mitzvah at 13. Bat Mitzvahs are a time of celebration and invitations for this event can be as unique as the child.

Artistic Invitation

Artistic invitations are a visually stunning way to invite family members and friends to this joyous occasion. The design of the invitation can include a traditional skyline of Jerusalem with the information located above the scene. Another design could be ribbons intertwined around the border of the invitation, which will frame the Bat Mitzvah information.

A more visually stunning invitation can be made out of small squares cut out of construction paper. Pick colors suitable for the event, such as blue and white, and cut 2-by-2-inch squares from the paper. Using a glue stick, glue the corners of the squares together to make a single sheet of paper measuring 6-by-6-inches. Cut a 3-by-4-inch sheet of off-white construction paper and place the party information on it before gluing this to the center of the invitation.

Star of David Invitation

The Start of David can be an appropriate Bat Mitzvah invitation, as it is strongly related to the Jewish religion. The design of this invitation can be simple, such as the star printed onto traditional invitation paper or the design can be more artistic. An artistic design could consist of a large solid color Star of David with the party information written in the center of the star.

Year-by-Year Achievements

This type of invitation provides more personal information about the young woman or young man, making it ideal to use as a family-member invitation. Using a traditional bi-fold invitation, type one-sentence accomplishments of the Bat Mitzvah girl, and print off her accomplishments. Use a paper cutter to cut out the sentences and glue these sentences onto the outside parts of the invitation.
