Barbie Party Ideas For A 4th Birthday

Barbie Party Ideas for a 4th Birthday

If your soon-to-be 4-year-old likes Barbie, she'll love having a Barbie-themed birthday party. However, don't be limited to purchasing Barbie paper plates and party hats since there are a number of Barbie party ideas for a 4th birthday that will let you exercise a little creativity. Does this Spark an idea?

Pink Explosion Theme

Barbie's signature pink color really is signature, but you can use any shade of pink as the theme for your Barbie birthday party. Have all-pink decorations, decorate a cake with varying shades of pink frosting, and request all the guests to wear pink.

Barbie's Jobs Theme

Barbie has done just about everything-she's been a nurse and a doctor, a teacher, a firefighter, a ballerina, astronaut, chef and more. Make the birthday girl's favorite Barbie the central theme-if nurse Barbie is her favorite, have lollipops and band-aids as party favors, a nurse's cap cake-and then ask the guests to come dressed in costumes like their favorite Barbie doll.

Princess Party Theme

Of course, Barbie has also been a princess several times over and most 3- or 4-year-old little girls love princesses. Have a Barbie princess theme with everyone-including their Barbie dolls-wearing princess dresses and tiaras. Serve high tea with plenty of finger foods and mini cakes, substituting punch for tea.

Cakes

Whether you have a special theme or just want a Barbie-fest, a special birthday cake is an excellent way to wow your 4-year-old honoree and guests. Also, you don't have to be exceptionally skilled to decorate a Barbie cake. For example, use a miniature Barbie and some fondant to make a beach scene or party scene on a plain sheet cake. Or, use a full-size Barbie and a Wilton Wonder Mold cake pan to make a cake that looks just like your little girl's favorite Barbie or a princess Barbie.

Activities

Although you could play traditional party games, why not put a special Barbie twist on your birthday party activities? Set up a makeover station where girls and their dolls can get their nails and makeup done before the party gets into full swing. Play the traditional game "What's Missing?" using Barbie shoes, clothes and accessories, or use/make a Barbie poster to play "Pin the Tail on the Donkey"-only Barbie needs a purse, shoes, or hair ribbon, for example.

Party Favors

Plastic tiaras make perfect Barbie party favors for 4-year-old girls, as do plastic bead necklaces and other costume jewelry pieces-or candy jewelry. Small inexpensive purses from dollar stores can be filled with lip gloss and stickers. If you're having a smaller party and the budget for it, consider sending each little girl away with a new Barbie doll or some Barbie clothes or accessories.
