Disney World Planning Tips

Disney World is a magical vacation to take with loved ones in your life. Walt Disney World has gotten even more spectacular throughout the years, which is why planning your trip is very important. To help you make the most of your trip, you need to do a little research and organizing to ensure the most magical experience.

Transportation

When choosing a flight to Orlando, search for an early departure. Morning flights will get you to Orlando early, allowing you the entire day to spend in the parks or relaxing at the hotel. Check airline websites to find you the best package. A nonstop flight will be your best bet. If you cannot find a nonstop flight, look for a flight that has the shortest layover time.

Once you arrive in Disney World, there are several ways to get to your hotel. If you are staying on the Walt Disney World grounds, which is highly recommended, transportation is included in your package. Disney's Magical Express will pick you up at the airport and take you, on a deluxe coach bus, to your resort. Magical Express employees will also pick your bags up at the baggage claim and drop them in your room later.

If you are not staying on the Disney property, taxis and shuttle buses are available at the airport. You can make a reservation, but you also can always find a ride to your hotel from the airport.

Disney's Extra Magic Hours

Disney World has a perk for guests staying on their property: Extra Magic Hours. Extra Magic Hours are specified times when the park is open early or later for resort guests. These extra hours will allow you and your family time to hit your favorite lines with fewer people in the park.

Extra Magic Hours are posted three months in advance on the Disney website. Plan your itinerary based on the Extra Magic Hours. It will help you to hit all the parks you want.

Disney Dining

Walt Disney World has a wonderful selection of restaurants, but since they are so popular, it is very important to make early reservations. Reservations can be made six months prior to your trip; since reservations fill up extremely fast, it is wise to call the first day you can.

When choosing a restaurant, pick a backup in case the one you want is booked. For example, the character breakfasts are popular, so if you cannot get into the one you want, make a reservation at another restaurant. The food is very similar, and the experience is always a blast.
