Florida Senior Campgrounds

Florida's warm weather make it an ideal spot for seniors to spend the winter.

In cities throughout Florida, retired seniors can find flea markets, antique shops and other places to go shopping. Different parts of Florida are also home to history museums, where people can learn about the Spanish, British and Mississippi and Woodland Indian groups that influenced the state's history and culture. The state features a variety of fishing lakes, including Lake Talquin and Lake Seminole; and golf courses, such as the TPC Sawgrass and Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill. Many of Florida's senior campgrounds sit near the state's recreational and educational activities.

Ben's Hitching Post Campground

The camping resort features 47 sites for RV camping, which have electrical, sewer and water connections. At the facility, senior guests can relax in the outdoor swimming pool or spa. The campground also offers horseshoe pits and bocci ball courts. Inside the facility's rec room, groups can play a game of Bingo or cards. The facility offers planned activities, such as dinners during holidays and group campfires. The campground is open from September to April.
