Disney Hotels With Monorail Transportation

When visiting Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, there are a lot of benefits to staying at a Disney resort. Guests of Walt Disney World have access to longer theme park hours, enjoy the style and service Disney offers around the clock and can take advantage of Disney World's transportation system. The most convenient and comfortable of Disney's free guest transportation is the monorail that runs from the Magic Kingdom park through a few select resorts.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Since 1997, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been referred to by Disney as the "flagship" of Disney resorts because of its luxury accommodations and amenities. The Victorian-inspired resort lies on Disney's Seven Seas Lagoon. Across the lagoon you can see the towering spires of Cinderella's castle at the Magic Kingdom, and if you come home early from the park you can see the fireworks show from the resort grounds. On the premises you will find a world-class spa, a state-of-the-art health club, two sparkling pools, white sand beaches, water craft rentals and a game room open 24 hours. The monorail station is connected to the main building.

Disney's Contemporary Resort

Disney's Contemporary Resort offers deluxe accommodations with a retro-futuristic design overlooking Cinderella's Castle and Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom. The sleek A-frame structure of the main tower has an atrium, with the Disney monorail service running right through the building. Just wait at the monorail station stop on the fourth floor and within minutes you'll be whisked away to the Magic Kingdom without ever leaving the building. Also in the main tower is the popular restaurant, Chef Mickeys, where guests can make reservations to dine with the classic characters like Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Mickey himself. The resort offers a health club, marina, fishing excursions, two pools, beaches, tennis courts and a high-tech game room.

Disney's Polynesian Resort

If you prefer the style and pace of an island in the south seas set in deluxe lodgings, consider Disney's Polynesian Resort. A lush, tropical paradise, the Polynesian offers an open-air dinner theater holding a nightly luau, fire dancing, drumming and a nightly musical show off the Seven Seas Lagoon, the "Electrical Water Pageant." Among the common amenities such as a game room, sports and character dining events, you'll find a pool with a 40-foot tall volcano, complete with waterfall and water slide. Catch the monorail off the station at the Great Ceremonial House.
