Fashion Colleges in London
Milan and Paris are seen as the fashion capitals of the world, but London is not far behind. The large metropolitan city offers a number of fashion programs at the top colleges. From fashion design to fashion education, there are a variety of highly competitive programs from which to choose.
London College of Fashion
The London College of Fashion is one of six colleges at the University of Arts London. The sole area of study is fashion, but there are a number of specialization areas. Students can choose from design, fashion education, research or consultancy and take classes in make-up, photography and fashion buying. The school emphasizes hands-on experience and classes are taught by industry professionals-a good way to start networking.

Central St. Martin's College of Art
Another college at the University of Arts London, Central St. Martin's College of Art is the city's most prestigious fashion institute. Students must submit a work portfolio to even be considered for the program. Students generally start in a different program at a different school for background training and then attend Central St. Martin's. The curriculum focuses on menswear, women's wear, knitwear and fashion promotion. Famous alumni include Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.

Royal College of Art
The Royal College of Art offers one of the most competitive programs with only 137 students accepted annually. The program, which focuses on menswear, women's wear and textiles, constantly evolves to keep pace with industry trends. Many graduates have gone on to open their own textile businesses and clothing lines.
