Easy Games To Make At Home

Use cotton balls for an easy soccer game at home.

Having fun does not always require expensive supplies and a lot of time. Make easy games in the comfort of your own home with a few inexpensive supplies. Games keep your mind and body active, while preventing boredom. All you need is a creative imagination and a few supplies to make easy games to play at home.

Straws

Pour a box of straws on a table and play an easy game of pick up straws. Each player must remove a straw from the stack without disturbing another straw. If a player successfully removes a straw, he earns that straw and takes another turn. When a player moves another straw, his turn is over and the play moves to the next player. The player with the most straws at the end of the game wins. Another variation of this game is to make the different colors of straws worth different amounts of points. Then add up each player's score at the end of the game to see who wins.

Penny Hockey

Use a penny, your fingers and a hard surface for a game of penny hockey. Have each player sit on opposite sides of the table. Each player makes a goal by placing her pinky and index fingers on the edge of the table. The players use the other hand to slide the penny back and forth across the table. Players earn a point by sliding the penny into the opponent's goal. The first player to score five points wins the game.

Air Ball

Have two players sit on opposite sides of a table. Each player selects two sides of the table. If you are playing with four players, each player selects a different side of the table; however, it cannot be the side directly in front of them. The object of the game is to blow a ping-pong ball off your designated side of the table. When the ping-pong ball goes off the table, the player who selected that side earns the point. The first player to score five points wins the game. Players can only blow air from the mouth to move the ball around the table -- no hands allowed.

Cotton Ball Soccer

Take a pizza box lid or large rectangle box that is not too deep. Draw a soccer field on a piece of green construction paper and place it in the bottom of the box. Use straws or pipe cleaners to make a goal on each side of the box. Drop a cotton ball in the middle of the "soccer field" and give each player a straw. Players must use a straw to blow the cotton ball into the goal. The first player to score three points wins the game.
