Diy Party Favors

Create hand-crafted custom wrappers for foil-wrapped candy to use as party favors.

Whatever the occasion and style for your party, distinctive and personalized favors will add a special touch to the event. Clever bookmarks and interesting tote bags are nice, but one-of-a-kind, customized candy bar wrappers will catch your guests' attention for their uncommon creativity. These wrappers are attractive and easy to design in the theme of your party. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove the original paper sleeve wrappers from the candy bars, but leave the bars wrapped in their foil.

2. Cut a piece of craft or scrapbook paper to fit around each candy bar, just like the original wrapper fit. Use the specialty fringe scissors to cut the side edges for more interest.

3. Wrap a new sleeve around each candy bar and secure it either with double-sided sticky tape or glue. Leave some of the foil exposed on both ends. Glue a decorative strip of ribbon, wrapping paper, lace or a plain strip of paper in a complementary color down the center wrapper seal.

4. Decorate the new sleeves to reflect your party theme. The possibilities are endless, so experiment with designs. For example, using the decorative edging scissors, cut out a piece of craft paper for the front of each candy bar that matches your party decor and complements the wrapper you just created. Make the cut-out slightly smaller than the wrapper sleeve, so that the wrapper's color or design also shows. Glue the complementary panel onto the wrapper. Embellish it with rubber-stamped images, stickers, magazine pictures or other items like pressed flowers, tiny sea shells, strips of wrapping paper, ribbon or glitter. Whatever works with your party theme and decor is a good choice.
