Decorative Pillar Candle
This gift is a great way to use the candles you bought on sale and thought you would eventually need. For this gift, you will need a pillar candle, blank decal (sticker) sheet, color printer and a computer. Using a publishing or word processing program on your computer, find a holiday image from the bank of provided clip art graphics. Insert the image onto the document and enlarge it so it fits most of the page, and print the image onto the decal sheet. Next, apply two coats of varnish over the decal sheet, but let the varnish dry in between coats. When dry, cut the decal paper to the size of the candle. If the backing of the decal sheet is hard to remove, soak it in water. Carefully peel the backing off the decal sheet as you wrap it around the candle. Examples of carrier oils include olive, grape seed, avocado, sesame, canola or sunflower oil. Mix eight drops of an essential oil and one drop of red or green food coloring into the salt mixture. This unique recipe from "Real Simple" combines three tablespoons paprika, one tablespoon brown sugar, one tablespoon dried oregano, one tablespoon ground coffee, one and a half teaspoons kosher salt and one teaspoon of pepper. Combine all the ingredients into an airtight container and decorate the container with Christmas stickers and ribbons, and attach a barbecue recipe your mom can make with the barbecue spice rub.
